Due to the ECMO machine that Owyn was on he needed to be paralyzed and sedated a lot of the time. On a few occasions our little man was fighting so hard the nurses had to administer twice the normal dose of drugs for a newborn to get Owyn to settle down. Many off the nurses referred to him as a 'feisty little bugger'!
He kept the nurses on their toes on a daily basis but they all had a soft spot for him, especially a nurse called Lou who phoned in on her day off to see how he was.
We will never forget the long hours and dedication of the Nurses at Great Ormond Street Hospital - Thank you all x
